Solar Roast Coffee

Solar Roast sits at 226 N Main in downtown Pueblo, where brothers Mike and David Hartkop built the first commercial solar-powered roastery on the planet. The Helios V uses a photo-voltaic array to drive an electric heater, no gas combustion involved. Beans are USDA organic, single origin from farms across Central and South America, Africa, and Asia. The downtown bar pours espresso and pour-over alongside soups and bagel sandwiches. Stock ships to 250 grocery stores across 42 states, but the cup tastes different here, three blocks from the roaster. Order an espresso if you want to taste what solar heat does to a Colombian.
