Urartu sits on North Artsakh Avenue in downtown Glendale, a few blocks from the Americana, in a room decorated around Armenian themes. Owner Urik and his son Youra opened the family operation in 2004 and have run it as a second home for Glendale's Armenian community ever since. The signature is Armenian coffee, finely ground beans simmered in a pot and served unfiltered the way it is poured in Yerevan. The menu runs handcrafted sandwiches alongside the drinks, with indoor and outdoor seating that fills with regulars who treat the place like a living room. Mornings draw multi generational Armenian families, Glendale locals, and visitors who came because someone told them this is the real version.
