How to Brew Coffee While Traveling
Hotel room coffee is a crime. The single-serve pods, the ancient drip machine with a stained carafe, the powdered creamer. You did not come this far to drink that. You have options.
The Travel Kit
An AeroPress (specifically AeroPress Go). A compact hand grinder like the 1Zpresso Q2. 100 to 200 grams of whole bean coffee in a sealed bag. Optional: a travel electric kettle. The weight of a hand grinder and an AeroPress is the weight of a paperback book.
Without the Kit
Find a local shop. Pulled's city guides cover shops worldwide. Walk in, order a pour over or a flat white, and start your day right. Specialty instant coffee (Swift Cup, Voila) has improved dramatically. Pack 10 packets for an entire trip with zero equipment. Airport coffee: order an americano. It is the safest order anywhere.
