COFFEE GUIDE
Cold Foam
Non-fat milk frothed cold and spooned over iced drinks. Creamy without heat.
WHAT IT IS
Cold foam is frothed milk (usually non-fat or 2% for better frothing) made cold using a high-speed blender or cold frothing device. It sits on top of iced coffee drinks like a cold cream layer. Popularized by Starbucks but now common across specialty shops.
HOW IT IS MADE
Non-fat milk is blended or frothed at cold temperature using a high-powered blender or specialized frothing device. The low fat content allows the milk proteins to create a stable, thick foam without heat. The foam is spooned over iced drinks.
WHAT IT TASTES LIKE
Light and creamy on top of whatever drink it is served on. Dissolves into the coffee as you drink. Adds a mild dairy sweetness and creamy texture to iced drinks.
WHEN TO ORDER IT
Added to cold brew, iced lattes, or iced Americanos. When you want a creamy topping on a cold drink without adding much fat.
HOW TO ORDER IT
Ask for "cold foam on top" when ordering any iced coffee drink. Specify the base drink first.
VARIATIONS
Sweet cream cold foam: with added vanilla syrup and heavy cream for richness. Flavored cold foam: with matcha, caramel, or other flavoring.
CAFFEINE
Zero. The foam itself has no caffeine.
